Catch total-area-coverage violations before the press does.
What it checks
- Total Area Coverage computed from content-stream color operators (fill + stroke)
- Spot colors set via scn, using their alternate-space values
- Per-page findings with the offending coverage value against the configured threshold
FAQ
What TAC limit should I use?
Coated stock commonly allows ~300–340%; newsprint far less. Your printer’s spec wins — the check exists so you catch violations before they do.
Why does TAC matter?
Ink beyond the substrate’s limit causes set-off, drying and registration problems. It is one of the most common reasons a job is bounced back.
