Missing mail piece detection
Catch an entire mail piece dropped from a production run.
What it checks
- Piece-serial continuity — every serial across the run present exactly once; a gap flags a missing piece
- Duplicate pieces — the same serial appearing on more than one piece
- Out-of-range serials and a total-count mismatch, when an expected range or count is declared
- Order-independent set completeness, so legitimately reordered presorted mail is not flagged
FAQ
How is a missing piece different from a missing page?
A missing page leaves a malformed piece; a missing piece means a whole recipient receives nothing. This check works at the piece level — it verifies the set of per-piece serials is complete — while the keyline page check verifies the pages within a piece.
Will presorted mail trigger false alarms?
No. The check compares the set of serials to a contiguous range regardless of physical order, so reordered presorted mail with a complete set produces no finding.
What signals the piece serial?
A dedicated piece-serial segment in the printed keyline (declared per client). The Intelligent Mail barcode serial is a planned alternate source that also covers AFP.
What happens to my documents?
Uploads are tenant-scoped, encrypted at rest, and anonymous uploads auto-purge within 24 hours. Result pages are token-gated and never indexed.
