PDF image resolution check
Find low-resolution images before they print soft.
What it checks
- Effective (placed) resolution per image — pixel dimensions against the transformed placement size, not just the embedded metadata
- Findings for images below the print threshold, with page references
- Geometry context (page boxes) so a flagged image can be located quickly
FAQ
What DPI do I need for print?
300 DPI effective is the common threshold for offset work; large-format tolerates less at viewing distance. The check reports the effective value so you can apply your spec.
Why "effective" resolution?
A 300 DPI image scaled up 200% prints at 150 DPI. Preflight computes the placed value, which is what the press actually renders.
What happens to my documents?
Uploads are tenant-scoped, encrypted at rest, and anonymous uploads auto-purge within 24 hours. Result pages are token-gated and never indexed.
