PDF/UA compliance check
Validate PDF/UA-1 and PDF/UA-2 accessibility claims — with not-evaluable honesty.
What it checks
- Tagged-structure requirements: an untagged or indeterminate document is reported not-evaluated — it is never scored as passing
- Alt text on figures, including render-based verification support for figure content
- Reading order: the tag order is correlated with on-page text geometry (MCID-to-text-run bounding boxes), so a backflow tag order produces a real finding
- PDF/UA-2 clauses new in ISO 14289-2, with the not-yet-determinable ones explicitly reported not-evaluable
FAQ
What is PDF/UA?
PDF/UA (ISO 14289) is the PDF accessibility standard: tagged, navigable, machine-readable structure that assistive technology can consume. See /what-is-pdf-ua for a primer.
My document is untagged — what happens?
It reports not-evaluated for structure-dependent criteria (with the reason), rather than pretending the criteria pass. That distinction is what makes the report defensible.
Do you support VPAT-style reporting?
Results map per criterion with Supports / Does not support / Not evaluated states, which is the honest input a VPAT needs.
What happens to my documents?
Uploads are tenant-scoped, encrypted at rest, and anonymous uploads auto-purge within 24 hours. Result pages are token-gated and never indexed.
